WORLDwrite, the London based education charity is offering free training tour guiding accredited by the London Institute of Touring. The programme entitled London Behind the Scenes involves developing on line, on foot and on film alternative tours in London’s East End. The programme, which emphasises global issues and connections, is supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Goldstar and v funding. Newcomers to the UK are especially welcome to join this programme.
The course takes place one evening per week and on some weekends, starting in March it runs for approximately 24 sessions. Details of all sessions are available in the training pack on the project website.
The course is free for 16 to 25 year olds and there are numerous opportunities for older volunteers to assist with the programme.
